Refurbishment of the Village Hall

During the summer of 2021 the village hall underwent extensive refurbishment. The facilities which include a catering kitchen with range cooker, appliances including a commercial dishwasher and serving hatch to the main hall, and small tea kitchen. mens, ladies and disabled toilets have all been completely refurbished, the disabled toilet  now meets full complaince. The hall is equipped with Sanitiser stations and sanitiser cleansers and operates to meet Covid safety guidlines.

The Parish Council in their support for the Village Hall and recognising that the building was no longer fit for purpose and in need of investment, committed the community infrastructure money that they received as a result of the housing development on Mill Rd. The Village Hall committee had also received substantial funding from multiple funding providers, committed funds to the project.

The refurbishment project has been possible thanks to the kind funding from other providers, which include the Suffolk County Council Cllr S Burroughes, who funded the range cooker and decoration costs for the main hall, totalling  £3,700.00, East Suffolk District Councillor M Cook who donated t £2,500 towards the project, Adnams towards the new lights in the main hall total £1,000, BCC £2,000, Enterprise Badingham £1,000, Badingham Quiz nights £164, Waitrose £280, residents donations £300.

The project has involved rectifying damp and drainage issues affecting the small kitchen exterior wall and mens toilets that drained into an open drain, installation of a working Kitchen, which includes a large cooking range, catering high speed dishwasher, fridges and fully fitted cupboards, also a fully fitted Tea Room. The Mens toilet, Ladies toilet and Disabled toilet have been installed to replace the 'old not fit for purpose' existing facilities. The Fire protection alarm system required compliance, a new system necessary for public buildings is now installed and the electrics needed to be earthed.
